Admirers around the globe today mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Anton Chekhov, one of history's best-loved writers of plays and short stories. This year the Union of Writers of Russian Federation is bestow an award of Medal in the name of Anton Chekhov. Only 300 people will be awarded.

Directorate of Union of Writers of Russian Federation and Union of Translation Writers has decided to award you with the Medal of Anton Chekhov with an award citation includes the phrase For significant professional achievements.

Those awarded the Medal of Anton Chekhov, will receive status of Member of Union of Writers.

Protocol of nomination for Prize in the name of Anton Chekhov

Prize in the name of Anton P. Chekhov is awarded to Russian and overseas citizens whom have gained a significant professional achievements in Art -Writing, Poetry, Art, Cinematography - and in Science Studies Medicine, Maths, Physics, Biology, Law, Teaching, Government structure regulation. Moreover, it has been decided to award small and medium businesses owners and sponsors supporting art. Especially noticed a sponsorship of establishments creating young artists.

Prize in the name of Anton P. Chekhov recipients will receive a Diploma and a Medal. The Medal of Anton Chekhov is round and made of brass that is 32mm in diameter. One side of it has a portrait of Anton Chekhov; the other side has a signature of Chekhov in its centre and the dates 1860 and 1904 above and below it respectively. The medal is attached by a hook to a rectangle block that is covered in dark blue silk ribbon.

The Prize is established by Union of Writers of Russian Federation (Moscow) and Union of Translation Writers.

The right to eligibility is privileged by Members of Union of Writers of Russian Federation. The protocol of award is issued by High Economy Union of Russian Federation.
